About

My name is Hannah. I am a KTP Associate working for Sheffield Hallam University in Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council on the Making IT Personal programme as Digital Inclusion Researcher.

In my spare time, I’m completing my Diploma in Management, helping pilot a female technology event for Sheffield and am interim Chair of The GIST Foundation (the people behind The GIST Hub).

I’ll be using this blog to post about activities happening, papers written, discussions had, methods used and so on.  Feel free to register with the GIST Community and join in the online discussions at the forum too.

A longer post will be written one day about digital inclusion, it’s many meanings and my own views but for now, the definition we use specifically for my research is ‘People understanding the benefits to them of being online and knowing where to get access if they want to’. This is in line with the Making IT Personal and Totally Online Barnsley visions.

From the blog, I’ll also link to some of the great people and schemes already working out there. So, if you don’t want to talk to me, you can talk directly to them – be sure to say I sent you though. :-)

That’s all for now. Thanks for popping by. You can keep up to date with my research by subscribing to this blog or following me on Twitter.
